How to limit exposure?

The limitation of exposures will follow the ALARA principle (“As Low As Reasonable Achievable”) for CEA personnel as well as for other personnel. In addition, the Health Service at Work is responsible for the decision to keep pregnant or breastfeeding women as well as trainees in position, according to the assessment of the exposure risk to nanomaterials in the workplace.

In practice, the limit of exposures is provided by:

  • the issue of an authorization to work on "nano" posts,
  • the closure of the work place outside of working hours,
  • the closure or the access control of storage areas for nanomaterials 24/24,
  • analyses of critical phases to limit the duration of exposure.
